This course provides classroom training in basic sailing terminology, techniques, and safety to meet the training requirements for issuance of an Auxiliary Sail endorsement to a US Coast Guard License.

Prerequisites:
For a sailing endorsement you will need to meet one of the following:
- Near Coastal endorsements require 360 days on sail or auxiliary sail vessels.
- Inland endorsements require 180 days on sail or auxiliary sail vessels.
Course Details:
This course provides classroom training in basic sailing terminology, techniques, and safety to meet the training requirements for issuance of an Auxiliary Sail endorsement to a US Coast Guard License. The course satisfies the requirements of 46 CFR 11.201 (j) to add Auxiliary Sail endorsement under 46 CFR 11.401 (d) to any national deck officer authorized by regulation.

Examination:
The student will be administered a 20 question multiple-choice examination with a minimum score of 70% required.
