Course Details:
Any applicant who has successfully completed our Electronic Chart Display Information System (ECDIS) (CMTIVA-179) course will satisfy:
⦁ The ECDIS training requirements of 46 CFR 11.305(a)(3)(vii), 11.307(a)(3)(vii), 11.309(a)(4)(xvi), 11.311(a)(3)(vii), 11.313(a)(3)(vii), 11.315(a)(3)(iv), 11.317 (a)(3)(v), 11.319(a)(4)(x), and 11.321(a)(3)(v); AND
⦁ The ECDIS standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.309(a)(3) and 11.319(a)(3); STCW Code Section A-II/1 and Table A-II/1, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVICs 12-14(Ch-4) and 02-18(Ch-1) Tasks 4.1
and 4.2; AND
⦁ The ECDIS standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.305(a)(2), 11.307(a)(2), 11.311(a)(2), 11.313(a)(2), and 11.315(a)(2); STCW Code Section A-II/2 and Table AII/2, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVICs 10-14(Ch-3), 11-14(Ch-3), and 03-18(Ch-1) Tasks 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5, 6.6, and 6.7;
AND
⦁ The ECDIS standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.317(a)(2) and 11.321(a) (2); STCW Code Section A-II/3 and Table A-II/3, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 13-14(Ch-3) Task 1.7.A.
Applicants who have successfully completed our course need not present completed “Task Control Sheets” for these assessments in application for STCW certification.
This course is designed for mariners employed on vessels equipped with modern ECDIS navigation systems but contains valuable information and practical exercises for those who have simple ECD only systems. The course is also of value to individuals who require a knowledge of electronic navigation and charting procedures.

Examination:
